Toyota Rav4 (06 - 12)
Ever since its release back in 1994, the RAV4 quickly became a favourite of Irish buyers. It has become one of the most successful compact crossovers around. This can comfortably hold five adults, there’s lots of leg and head room, and the boot is impressively large and can carry some sizeable objects. The rear seats also come down to increase the storage space if needs be. This RAV4 looked well inside and out, and is one of the vehicles always in demand on the second-hand market. It has a great driving position and is particularly well kitted out. It is a grand car to drive, with road and wind noise at a minimum. It handles well with lots of feedback from the steering; gear change is easy and smooth as you’d expect from a Toyota. Nice driving position enhances the overall feel of a study, smart crossover.
Look out for
• There were reported issues with the cylinder heads in the 2.2 diesel

• There’s plenty of standard equipment and safety features
• Practical; has a really spacious cabin and boot
• Available as a two-wheel or four-wheel drive
• The cabin is really neatly designed and comfortable
What we don't like
• Its off-roading ability is questionable to say the least
